🔹 Nano Silk 300D (1/0)

I use the 8/0 Classic for all my single hook streamer patterns in size 2-4. I find it has the strength and control without the heavy buildup. I can create large heads by applying significant pressure to the thread without a concern of breakage. Its this confidence in your thread that makes all the difference in finishing the fly off accurately each and every time!

🔹 Classic Waxed Thread 6/0

• Denier Equivalent: ~150–210D
• Breaking Strength: 33oz+
• Best For: Salmon flies, streamers, predator flies, and patterns requiring heavier wraps
• Notes: Excellent for spun deer hair patterns and when tying heavier materials.

A perfect choice when you want a classic thread with a bit more backbone.

If you need an even heavier thread for big fly work this is what you need. I use the 6/0 for many of my larger Tandem Streamer patterns where layered materials create larger heads that requires a 1/8" eye. Forming these large heads requires a thread that can lay flat, create the thread control you need and with a little help from some tyers wax creates the perfect head profile you need for these larger streamers

3. Semperfli Spyder Thread (18/0 — ~30D)

• Denier: ~30D
• Breaking Strength: ~400g
• Best For: Traditional fine flies where you want a semi-translucent thread that blends with materials
• Special Qualities: Two-strand construction lays reasonably flat and provides more strength than some other ultra-fine options.

This can be an excellent alternative to very fine threads for micro fly work.
