Don Hostins has written an important book about the history of Atlantic Salmon fishing and conservation in Newfoundland and Labrador. Rivers of Dreams provides an interesting and comprehensive account of Atlantic salmon fishing in Newfoundland and Labrador from the first gentlemen sportsmen who visited these wonderful wilderness rivers, to the glory days where Lee Wulff operated his camps on the River of Ponds and Portland Creek, to present day. Donald Hustins is an avid angler. he has written articles on salmon and trout fishing in the Atlantic Salmon Journal, Newfoundland Sportsman and Spawner magazine. he is actively involved as a volunteer promoting the sustainabale use of the provinces sport fish stocks. As well, he is former President of the Salmonid Association of Eastern Newfoundland, current president of the Salmonid Council of Newfoundland and Labrador and a board member of the Atlantic Salmon Federation Canada
